Small Excavator Challenges the Impossible



On December 25th, when many people celebrated Christmas, Sany small excavator once again attended the famous China show “Challenge the Impossible” and performed another stunt that surprised everyone. Memory was revoked to November 13th, which is the first time that Sany excavator appeared in this TV show and performed tightrope walking in the height of 5.4 meters high from the ground. At that time, Mr Liu Renwei, Sany excavator engineer, perfectly showed his consummate operating skill and successfully completed the challenge. With the courage of the success in the first time, Mr Zhang Xiaocheng, the challenger of this time, created another miracle on the Christmas day.



Different with the challenge of the first time, Sany compact excavator turned into spider-man this time and climbed the tower with the height of 18 meters. The tower was divided into six parts and the light would be turned on when the excavator reached that part. The rule for the final success was that the when the excavator reached the top, its jib would be fixed with the groove in the bottom and the machine body hung in the air for 5 seconds. Full of difficulties and risks, this challenge became the focus of this show.



With strengthened parts and excellent bearing capacity, the 13.5-ton compact excavator perfectly cooperated with Mr Zhang Xiaocheng and successfully completed the challenge. Both the audiences in the site and watching TV applauded for this excellent performance. And for SANY, this was the best Christmas gift.

Guidelines for Truck Crane Lubricant



Truck crane is easily abraded during working, which will cause damages to the crane and even result in stopping working. Therefore, good lubrication is very important to keep the crane working smoothly. Generally, the parts and attachments should be checked every 2-3 months to make sure the lubricant is working, and the checking period depends on the machine’s working frequency and the ambient environment.



Different lubricants should be used for different parts, which will yield twice the result with half the effort. The parts that need to be lubricated include truck crane decelerator, wire rope, bolts, bearings, gears and impeller of hydraulic brake. There are some matters that need attention when lubricating. The lubricant in different models and brands should not be mixed, the lubricant should be kept clean, the pipeline should be washed frequently, the lubricant amount for the decelerator should not exceed the limit, otherwise, oil leak will happen.



There are some standards to examine good lubricant. The lubricant in high quality would not deteriorate in wet days and will form a layer of protective film to keep water and moisture away from the metal surface. Good lubricant would not be affected by temperature or cause chemical reaction with acid and soda. And lubricant in high quality has strong oxidation resistance to resist erosion of the salt. So much more attentions should be paid to choose the right lubricant for your truck crane, which will not only reduce downtime but also extend machine’s service life.

Hydraulic Excavator Operating Techniques



Nowadays, more and more drivers have a good skill in operating hydraulic excavator. Safety comes first, only the excavator operator has a good knowledge of safe operating guidelines can he guarantee the safety of the machine and himself. 


Check the ambient to make sure no barriers or rough terrains will impede the excavator to make a rotation. The crawler belts should be touched with the ground completely to improve the stability of the whole machine, which will prevent rollover and collision. The digging capacity can reach the maximum when the angle between the bucket cylinder and the rod, the arm cylinder and the bucket rod becomes 90°, the cutting resistance becomes the minimum when the angle between the bucket teeth and the ground is 30°. The digging efficiency can be improved when the boom and the bucket are used simultaneously. As we all know that hydraulic excavator can be used in various constructions, so different operating techniques should be used in different operating environments.

The excavator bucket should be prevented to dig rocks as much as possible since the hard rocks will make damage to the bucket. But when there is no choice, the operator should adjust the machine’s body and make the bucket cut the rock according to its cracks. Put the bucket teeth into the cracks of the rock and use the power of the rod. The complete rocks should be cracked before digging by bucket. Keep the machine stable and balanced when doing leveling work, it is very important to make a good coordination between the arm and the bucket for leveling. When the hydraulic excavator is used to lift heavy-duty loads, the bucket should be put in an accurate position and no person should be close to the lifting loads, which will cause accident.

How do crawler crane work in soft earth?



The crawler crane is the so-called crane with crawler belt. Compared with tired crane, the crane with crawler belt has stronger grip capability and wider road adaptability. However, the crawler belt doesn’t mean 100% road compatibility, more cautions should be paid when working in the soft earth.


According to the Safety Guidelines for hoisting equipment Operation, the earth should be leveled up before the crane is put into use and the machine body should be set stable, the working area should has enough space. If the crane needs to walk across the soft earth during travelling process, choosing another route is the best choice. In order to avoid earth collapse, the machine should not stay in the soft earth for too long time.

The operator should check the ground conditions before the crawler crane starts working. The ground should be hard and smooth enough to bear the machine. Plank or hard soil block should be padded beneath the machine’s legs if the earth is too soft to bear the crane. Confirm the weight and gravity center of the lifting object to avoid overload.
